At the frontage of Katong Shopping Center here in Singapore, a unique shop filled with magnificent Chinese deities has a notable sense of spiritual presence, owned by Master Chew Hon Chin.

Many often question the truth in these practices, some view it with doubts and suspicions, some felt that it’s daunting and humorous at the same time and of course there are those who indeed need help from him for many different reasons.

Although, the signage in front of shop prints “Ghostbusters” in golden words and red colour background, Master Chew specialized in various other things, like marriage harmony, family harmony, career enhancement, geomancy which is also know as Fengshui, etc. His clients came from all walks of life; more than half are English-educated professionals who seek solutions to woes, from problems at work to spiritually defined problems.

Master Chew travel widely to many countries to assist those who require his help, from ghost hunting in Sydney, Australia to consultations on Fengshui in Nepal.

So where did these all start from? Master Chew came from a humble family background, at a young age, he was enterprising and witty. He ventured into many businesses, ambitiously, he explore expanding his business in Thailand and Indonesia and tasted minor success.

At the turning point of his life, there were difficult and harsh circumstances that triggered off a string of events. That had led to his realization of his spiritual abilities.

That was during the days when he had a KTV business in Batam, there were problematic issues with one of his worker and that eventually led to the dismissal of that worker. It was prior to the worker’s dismissal, unfortunate incidents had occurred simultaneously, his business bled badly and so was his health.

He seeks help from different shamans but to no avail. Finally one day, fate had come to terms with him. At the defining moment, a priest who had processed by The Jade Emperor approached him and offered him the resolution.

Subsequently, he made a pact with Jade Emperor to help others in need and danger. Nevertheless, that includes bringing no harm to the society.

Many people, regardless of race and religion, seek his consultations everyday. Fate has indeed brought people who need help to Master Chew, hoping that he will cure their problems.

He charges between S$30 for simple fortune telling to more than 4-figure for complicated rituals involving the spiritual forces.
